Example

A solar control polycarbonate sheet 2 000 mm × 2 000 mm is placed in a frame on 4 sides. It has to be installed in an area with a lot of snow and is exposed to temperatures between –25 °C and +30 °C in the sun. What is the rebate depth of the profile?

NOTE: A solar control sheet can get up to 70 °C in the sun, as it absorbs infra red radiation (heat). A dark sheet also absorbs heat, but in a different way : the visible radiation (light) is absorbed, causing the molecules to vibrate while absorbing the energy.

So filling in t° min = –25 °C, t° max 70 °C, Length 2 000 mm, PC(2), Tolerance Std(1), Deflection max allowable (1), Min Clamping 1 mm, Nominal T° 20 °C

This results in a rebate depth of: 20 mm
